May. 3rd, 2006 07:08 pmI still have heard nothing form any of the people I was matched to from the speed dating. Although they had indicated on the web site that they wanted to see me again. All three must have either changed their minds or gone for someone better. I probably made a mistake by getting my hopes up when I learned that I had matches. I do wonder if I ever will get any dates, ever. It can get very depressing at times.
Work was fairly quiet. I have taken another Friday off work, because it's my friend Malcolm's birthday celebration tomorrow evening at a bar and at least if I have the Friday off I'll be able to enjoy myself and have some drinks.
Last night I was watching a documentary about the filming of "2001: A Space Odyssey". I can still remember seeing that film when I was about eight or nine years old at my Gran's house. I'd just thought that it was a science-fiction film about a rampaging killer computer. Which it isn't. I thought it was absolutely stunning. I'd never sene anything like it before. I remember I didn't understand anything that was happening but I really liked it. I remember when I was nine I named my pet goldfish Hal after the computer. I remember that after Steven Spielberg, Stanley Kubrick was the first film director that I was really aware of.
