Last night I was watching a terrible science-fiction horror thriller thing called "The Astronaut's Wife" from 1999. Johnny Depp starred as an astronaut who is out of contact with Earth for two minutes while repairing a damaged satellite. Charlize Theron plays his wife who notices strange alterations in his personality and behaviour when he returns. Her suspicions are increased after she becomes pregnant. It's basically a rip-off of "Rosemary's Baby". Neither scary nor thrilling, just slow and dull, except for a frankly ridiculous climax. It has loads of really weird camera angles, for no real reson. If you have ever wanted to see endless close-ups of Charlize Theron's bare feet, this is the film to see.
Today was an average day at work. Pretty slow. Most of the conversations centred around the usual gossip that flies around offices. Until I moved to that department I had no idea that this staid, dull company was such a hotbed of scandal and intrigue. Not that I have ever been involved in any of it, of course.
Tomorrow I was going to the cinema with my mum to see "Junebug", which actually looks like a very amusing film.
It's been three and a half years since the first (and last) time I have had a date. That's a depressing thought.
