Last night I watched about an hour or so of "Freddy Vs. Jason" on TV. It's actually not too bad. I went to see it when it was at the cinema and quite enjoyed it. It's funny, at least. It's basically as good a film as any could be that pitted Freddy Krueger ("Nightmare on Elm Street") against Jason Voorhees ("Friday the 13th"). I suppose the worst thing you could say about it is that, seemingly it has encouraged them to make yet more sequels to them.

It was a fairly quiet day at work, but there was a lot more stuff to do today anyway. Tomorrow it's the diversity awareness training which should at the very least be something a bit different.

After work I was trying to get hold of the latest issue of "Total Film" magazine, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I ended up buying some more kitchen roll because I'd run out (it's been a really exciting day today!)

"Little Britain" is hugely popular over here! In fact, it feels like it's everywhere at the moment. I think it's quite funny in places.

actually after your diversity training meeting want to start a topic? I am curious to find out if you think that in western cultures we have become so obessed with being diverse that we can not really be ourselves anymore for fear of offending someone let alone breaking politically correct boundaries. Also do you think the film industry has become more inclined to act on the issue of diversity as well?

Yeah, that would be an interesting topic. I'll post about it in detail tomorrow after the diversity meeting.

I certainly agree that people can't really express themselves fully, as they may want to, for fear of offending people. Whether that's really a good thing or a bad thing I don't know.

When it comes down to it, Hollywood is very conservative, but it is improving when it comes to diversity. The independent film sector has acted on issues of diversity and such liek for years though. In many respects it's way ahead of Hollywood.

I tend to enjoy horror films most of the time, and I remember when "Freddy Vs Jason" first came out. I was dying to see it in the theater but never got a chance to, and I haven't even rented it or seen it on TV yet!
