Oct. 27th, 2006 11:49 pmToday at work was very quiet and dull. Joe was off work ill today. He was still going to be going out to see Saw 3 this evening though.
I got back quite early and had a visit from Michael who lives in the apartment below me, and has had problems with a pipe since March. He contacted the city council and they have issued a statutory notice to get it fixed and have billed all of us who live in the building. Apparently they are going to need access to several flats including mine, and we have to call the council and leave our telephone numbers. Michael reckons it will take until at least next year before anything happens.
I went to the wedding reception this evening, for my friend Gemma. She got officially married in New Zealand, but this was a wedding blessing which, according to Gemma, is like a second wedding where, instead of exchanging vows, you exchange promises. The blessing was really for Gemma's family and friends who couldn't attend the real wedding. I was just invited to the reception, and I was actually the only one of Gemma's work friends that was there, and so aside from Gemma I didn't know anyone there, but it was good. I had a few drinks and stayed for about four hours before heading home. Gemma left very early, because she was tired.
