Oct. 24th, 2006 05:43 pmLast night I watched a TV show called Nightmares & Dreamscapes, a kind of anthology show based upon adaptations of Stephen King short stories. This weeks was called "Crouch End", and was based around an American couple honeymooning in London who wind up in the London suburb of the title which turns out to be the entrance to another dimension filled with monsters. It was kind of based around the HP Lovecraft "Cthulhu Mythos" stories. It suffered from the fact that the setting really didn't look like Britain. It was actually filmed in Australia. I also watched a show called The Real Amityville Horror which was a documentary exploring whether the book of The Amityville Horror which claims to be a true story, is just a hoax.
I went to the 'Realising Our Future' course today. This session was on "Dealing with Difficult Conversations". We had another free lunch, consisting of coleslaw, cold ham and salami, rice, boiled poatoes, chicken, and some chocolate cake. We also did some more role-play in the afternoon. People said that I was really great at the role play, and that if I was more like how I was in my role play in real life, I'd actually be really great (honestly, that's what I was told). I asked the actors how they got into acting. I actually really enjoy performing, even when it's just speaking in front of a crowd, and I'm really good at that, apparently. Maybe I should think of trying that for a career.
After the course I went to the shops and bought a card for the wedding blessing on Friday and a birthday card for my Gran. I also bought a book called Overcoming Low Self-Esteem: A Self-help Guide Using Cognitive Behavioral Techniques by Melanie Fennell.
