Mar. 28th, 2006 07:36 pmI was watching a documentary on television last night about extras in movies and TV shows. It's not exactly well-paid and they're lucky to work maybe one day a month, but it seemed quite fun. Most people who do it have regular jobs that they do, but it seemed fun, you get to hang around on movie sets and meet interesting people. Most of the people interviewed in the show seemed to really enjoy it. I suppose as long as you're not expecting to suddenly be discovered and become a star, which never happens, although apparently if they are really lucky extras do sometimes get speaking parts. I also watchged one of the seemingly endless cycle of TV shows about movies that have been banned in Britain. The British censorship system was famously strict up until about six years ago (the orginial "Texas Chain Saw Massacre" was banned, and "The Exorcist" was banned on video, both for being too scary).
The buses were on strike today and so I ended up walking to and from work. The journey into work was fine, but the walk back was a nightmare because it was pouring rain and I was wearing a leather jacket and had no umbrella with me. I was absolutely soaked when I got back.
Apparently Scarlett Johansson has been named "World's Sexiest Woman" according to "FHM" magazine. I was aware of that poll, and I voted for Rachael Leigh Cook.
