Feb. 18th, 2006 03:42 pmLast night was very quiet. I watched a couple of episodes of "24" on DVD, read until about three o'clock in the morning, and looked at the television until I decided to go to bed (I wasn't watching anything, I just sat there looking at it).
This mornign I went out and bought the novel "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" by Patrick Suskind for the next book group meeting. It looks quite good actually, it's set in eighteenth century France and tells the story of a man with an unusually sensitive sense of smell who makes perfumes and decides to kill people in order to create the perfect scent. It was in a three for two offer so I also bought "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck and "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles" by Haruki Murakami. On the way home I stopped off and got my grocery shopping for the week (it cost a bit more than usual today because in addition to my usual junk I needed to buy some more shower gel and washing up liquid).
I've just finished finally getting around to recording my dad's and my brother's old computer files onto a removable hard drive, so at least that's one less job to do. It was actually quite difficult to find everything, because we've had this computer for years. My parent's have a new computer now and I have the old one so they've been trying to transfer the files.
