Oct. 17th, 2006 11:01 pmWork was surprisingly quiet today. A lot of people were off, I think there is some kind of bug going around.
I left work quite early at around quarter to five to go to my parent's house. We had meatballs and past in a pasta sauce with melted cheese and some ice cream for dinner.
After that we went up to the Kings Theatre (which is apparently celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year) to see a play called The History Boys written by Alan Bennett. The play is set in an English high school in the 1980s, where a group of the best and the brightest final year students are being prepared to go for places at Oxford or Cambridge. However they have to deal with their eccentric General Studies teacher who wants to teach them mainly arts and literature and their History teacher who wants to teach them basically to get into Oxford or Cambridge, as well as the problems of growing up. The play is a comedy, although it does have much darker elements, and is extremely funny. It was very good and very entertaining. It's been turned into a film now.
