Sep. 12th, 2006 10:41 pmToday at work was very difficult really. There was a very complex situation which took about two hours to sort out, and of course once it had been sorted out it was discovered that what had seemed so difficult was actually really simple.
After work, I had just enough time to buy some milk, get home, dump my bag, splash on some milk and have a shave before heading out to meet Michele. We were meeting at a place called Dragonfly, a bar in the Grassmarket section of Edinburgh, that is actually really difficult to find unless you know where you're going. The bar was a cocktail bar that was done out in a kind of exaggerated 1920s style, but it was very nice. I met Michele okay, she was quite tired because she had just come back form Glasgow, where she had had a interview. Michele is in her twenties, with long dark hair and large dark eyes. She trained as an artist, but is currently looking for work in museums or, preferrably, art galleries. She's originally from a small village in England. I started off with a bottle of Corona beer, while she had a Mai-Tai. Then I had a cocktail called a Western Showgirl, which tasted like raspberry juice only much stronger, while Michele had a cocktail called Ape Surprise, which she said tasted like honey. Michele didn't want another drink after that but I had a cocktail called Rain, which tasted kind of like vanilla. Michele said that she had a wonderful time, and that she had a lot of fun. Her mum is coming up on Friday for a week's holiday, but we made tentative arrangements to meet up for a drink a week on Friday, because my friend Joe is having a few drinks for his birthday and she wants to meet my friends. We also might be going out clubbing together (I've never really been) at some point. As we left, she touched my arm. The first time either of us has touched the other. I don't know if it means anything or not. I really do like her.
As I'm typing this I'm listening to a CD I have of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony (possibly seeing A Clockwork Orange on Friday got me in the mood for it).
