Jul. 8th, 2006 03:17 pmOn Thursday night I was watching Lilja 4-ever, a very powerful film by Lukas Moodysson, about a 16 year old Russian girl who is abandoned by her mother to fend for herself, and of course everything becomes just about as bad as it can get. It was a very good film but really bleak. I also saw Bad Influence, a Curtis Hanson film from 1990, which starred James Spader as a downtrodden yuppie, and Rob Lowe as a mysterious stranger who befriends him and tries to improve his life, but it turns out thet the stranger is not nearly as benevolent as he seems. It wasn't a very good film.
Amy wasn't at work yesterday, but the guy I believe she's dating was.
Last night I ended up going out drinking with some people from work, who work in my current section (which I moved into in February). That's really the first time I've ever been out with them. It was someone's leaving party, although I'd never actually met him before. I just figured if everyone else was out it might be a good idea. I did get pretty drunk and tried to chat up a group of girls. I got a couple of kisses from one of them.
