Last night I was watching a Doctor Who story from the 1970s called The Time Monster. In the story, the Doctor (Jon Pertwee) is convinced by a dream that his arch enemy the Master (Roger Delgado) is still on the loose. It turns out that the Master is impersonating a Greek professor working on a matter-transmission project in England, using a strange crystal found at the site of a volcanic eruption in a region that is believed to have once been the legendary city of Atlantis. It turns out that the Master is intending to bring back a legendary creature known as Kronos, a Chronovore or "Time-Eater", to help him take over the universe. The story was probably too long, and the problem with so many old Doctor Whos that of the terrible special effects (by today's standards), with the main monster looking like a guy in a bird costume made out of tissue paper, whos dreadful powers seem to consist of running around, flapping his wings and making irritating squwaking sounds.

I also watched the latest episode of Torchwood, which was very good. I've been really enjoying that series.

Work was pretty much the same as usual today. I went out for a drink afterwards with my friend Alan.

I need to see this weeks episode of torchwood.
I love the dr who series and movies even the early ones that were on such a cheap budget still were pretty decent as far as a plot and actually having to act. The Master has always been one of my favorite characters and then I like devros too.

I always liked the stories in even the very early Doctor Whos. I'm surprised they haven't had Davros and the Master in the new series. Apparently Tom Baker is quite keen to play the Master.

It's the Doctor who from the 1970's that is entirely too stupid for me. It annoys me because it's just too archaic. I can laugh at it and get amusement but I can't really watch it. I like the newest Doctor Who
